Authoring Software and the NeoDoc Quality Assurance Process
Calenco
Structured authoring software
To ensure the performance of the editorial software and customer satisfaction, the quality assurance process is necessary. However, our obsession and objective is to make Calenco the simplest and most reliable structured authoring software on the market.
Camille Begnis founding director of NeoDoc.
First of all, having the confidence of its customers is vital for every business. As a result, NeoDoc has put in place a quality assurance process that builds customer confidence and the credibility of a company. As a result, it allows the latter to compete better with its opponents in a global market.
Moreover, this quality assurance process mainly concerns the organisation and the means used by the company to guarantee quality. NeoDoc has thus adopted a strict quality assurance process to guarantee its customers the quality of its products.
During an interview, Camille Bégni announces the number 2726
to illustrate the work of this quality process. It corresponds to the number of automatic tests carried out to guarantee the quality of the structured authoring software Calenco.
It is important to remember that Calenco editorial software is dedicated to the creation, translation, publication and dissemination of corporate strategic documents.
Calenco editorial software quality assurance process
Can you explain in more detail what the figure represents 2726
?
This figure represents the number of automatic tests that are launched on Calenco to evaluate all features. These tests are performed in each new version of Calenco. They encompass all aspects of security and functionality of the editorial software platform.
In addition, we work with many major accounts (EDF, SNCF, General Electric, Bouygues Construction...). We must provide them with quality assurance. Finally, all our customers benefit, regardless of their size.
How are these quality assurance tests performed?
These are automatic scripts which reproduce a full scenario of using the platform. They verify that each of the user features and especially that security constraints comply with the original specifications.
Testing is done directly on IPA(Application Programming Interface). In addition, comprehensive manual tests are performed on the graphical interface.
Where does this figure come from?
This figure represents the number of tests performed to ensure that there is no regression in new versions of Calenco. It constantly increases to take into account new features. One update cannot be achieved until the result 100% positive. During testing, these results are not always satisfactory. It is therefore necessary to perform patches on the code until reaching 100% success before updating.
What is the importance of these tests in the NeoDoc quality process?
They are essential. We would otherwise have to do all the tests by hand. Moreover, it would take a lot of time, not to mention the risks of human error that are always possible.
Are the tests done on Firefox only?
They are made on several browsers and on several operating systems, whenever there is a new feature.
In conclusion:
The NeoDoc quality assurance process is demanding. The number of tests required is steadily increasing. Next time I'll announce a much higher number.
concludes Camille Bégnis with a smile.
