Content reuse in Calenco relies on a simple principle: each block of content, a warning, a procedure, a technical specification, is stored only once in the platform as a reusable module. Writers do not copy this content into their documents; they include it as modules. The final document is an assembly of these modules, each linked to its single source.
In practice, when writers create a new document, they select and assemble existing modules without re-entering or duplicating information. If a technical specification changes, they update the source module once, and the change propagates automatically to all documents that use it, regardless of their language or multi-format publishing format. Calenco offers a very fine level of granularity. It is even possible to create reusable content consisting of just a single word.
This mechanism is fundamental to a CCMS: it eliminates the risk of errors associated with copying and pasting, ensures consistency across the entire documentation corpus and considerably reduces update times.
