How does automatic layout work in Calenco?

In Calenco, writers do not spend their time formatting the document. Content is structured first, then a stylesheet automatically applies brand rules when the publication is generated.

The stylesheet manages typography, colors, headings, table of contents, indexes, notes, appendices, and layout rules. The same content can therefore produce consistent outputs in several formats.

This separation of content and presentation removes much of the time lost in Word or InDesign, reduces presentation errors, and makes translated versions easier to publish.

In Calenco, automatic page layout relies on the principle of separating content and presentation: writers focus solely on technical content, without worrying about presentation. Page layout is applied automatically by a predefined stylesheet, which applies the company's visual identity guidelines at publication time.

In practice, once the content has been written, the final document is generated in one click.

The stylesheet automatically applies all graphic rules: typography, colors, table of contents, index, notes and appendices. No manual intervention in presentation is required, regardless of the selected output format (PDF, web, tablet).

This is a fundamental change compared with Word, where formatting can account for up to 50% of a writer's working time. With Calenco, this time is eliminated: writers focus on added value, namely the content. The time saving in document production is divided by at least 2.

Automatic page layout also eliminates manual layout rework during translation: each language version is published directly with the same visual identity guidelines, without additional intervention.
